Peter's farewell letter. Knowing his execution is near, he writes urgently. The danger shifted from external persecution to internal corruption.
False teachers claimed grace was a license for sin and mocked the Second Coming. Peter writes to vaccinate the church with Truth.

1. The Prophetic Word (2 Pet 1:19):
Peter saw the Transfiguration, yet says: "We have the prophetic word more fully confirmed." Scripture is more reliable than mystical experiences. It is a lamp shining in a dark place.
2. God is Not Late (2 Pet 3:9):
Mockers said Jesus wouldn't return. Peter replies: God isn't slow; He is patient. "Delay" is mercy, allowing time for repentance.
3. Growth as Antidote:
The best defense against error is growing in truth. "Grow in the grace and knowledge." Stagnant Christians are easy prey.
Where does 2 Peter meet you?
1. Doubting the Bible:
In times of relativism, Peter affirms Scripture is not of "private interpretation". Return to the rock of the inspired Word.
2. Fighting "Cheap Grace":
False teachers used grace to excuse sin. Peter calls this returning to the mud. Does your freedom lead to holiness or license?
3. When God Seems to Forget:
Waiting for justice? God's delay is salvation. Use the waiting time to live in holiness and godliness.
