Galatians is the only letter where Paul skips the thanksgiving. He goes straight to the point: "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him." False teachers claimed believing in Jesus wasn't enough; one had to follow Jewish rules too.
Paul sees this as a mortal attack. If you add anything to Christ's work, Christ died for nothing. It is a passionate letter written to free spiritual slaves.

The theology defines the difference between Religion and Gospel.
1. Son vs. Slave (Ch. 4):
Paul uses Hagar (slave) and Sarah (free). Rules create slave anxiety; Grace creates sonship security. "So you are no longer a slave, but a son."
2. Fruit vs. Works (Ch. 5):
Flesh produces "works" (human effort), but the Spirit produces "fruit" (natural growth). Love, joy, and peace aren't goals achieved by willpower, but natural results of connection to the Spirit.
3. Crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20):
The secret isn't "trying to be like Jesus", but dying so He lives through us. "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."
Where does Galatians meet you?
1. In Religious Performance:
Do you feel God only loves you when you "do it right"? That is legalism. Galatians breaks these chains. God loves you because you are in Christ, not because of your performance.
2. When Freedom Scares You:
We fear grace will lead to sin. Paul says true freedom leads to serving by love, not fear. The Spirit is a better guide than the Law.
3. Tired of Pretending:
Galatians asks: "Who has bewitched you?". Stop trying to impress people with external religiosity. What matters is "faith working through love".
