The Strong Donkey and the Times

Genesis 49:14
"Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:"
The Burden Weight

Genesis 49:15
"And he saw that rest was good and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear and became a servant unto tribute."

Jesus unites these two qualities of Issachar: He is the Suffering Servant who bore the burden of our sins (like the strong donkey) and is the Lord of History who knows and defines the times and seasons.
