Rebekah knows how to act—sometimes too much. Hospitality opens doors, but anxiety tries to “secure” promise through shortcuts.

The setting

A meeting at the well: character revealed in service (Gen 24).
Two nations in the womb: conflict and prophecy early (Gen 25).
Family tension: favoritism, rivalry, fear.

The investigation

Real virtue: hospitality confirming direction.
Control disguised as faith: blessing “secured” by deception (Gen 27).
Inevitable fallout: division, flight, grief.

Conclusion

God fulfills without manipulation: promise doesn’t need lies to exist.
Application: courage is good; anxious control ruins relationships.
