The Carpentry: The God of the Ordinary

START
Luke 2:52
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man."
18 Years of Anonymity
END
Luke 3:23
"And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph which was the son of Heli"

It is shocking to think that the Creator of the Universe spent 18 years in a dusty workshop in a town with no reputation ("can anything good come out of Nazareth?"). The silence of these years screams a forgotten truth: God loves the process.

The Scenario

Jesus was not idle; He was being "perfected" in humanity. He obeyed imperfect parents, paid taxes, and dealt with difficult customers. He sanctified common work.

The Investigation

Nazareth was Jesus' test of faithfulness.

The Conclusion

If you feel "stuck" in a common job, caring for family, or in a routine without glamour, you are not far from God; you are in Nazareth. Faithfulness in the dark is what builds authority for the light. He who is not faithful in the carpentry shop will never bear the weight of the cross.
