Amor

Inconvenient Love

Luke 10:30-37
Listen

01. The Scene

A man was beaten. A priest and a Levite passed by. A Samaritan (enemy) stopped. He used his oil and wine, gave up his ride, and paid the bill.

"He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him."

02. The Essence

Biblical Love (Agape) is inconvenient. Loving when easy is sympathy. True love costs time, money, and comfort. It gets dirty. He didn't ask questions; he acted. He imaged Christ, who found us fallen and paid our bill.

03. My Voice

Who is the "wounded" one in your path? We tend to look away. The Altar challenges: go and do likewise. Love is measured by your willingness to be interrupted to heal another.
