The Gaze of Peace

Luke 2:25-32
Listen

01. The Scene

Simeon, an old man, had a promise: he wouldn't die before seeing the Messiah. He waited years. One day, he sees a poor couple with a baby. He holds Him and sings: "Lord, now let your servant depart in peace... for my eyes have seen your salvation."

"Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation."

02. The Essence

Simeon's gratitude wasn't for wealth, but for *vision*. He held the promise. To the world, a baby; to Simeon, the "Light of the nations". True gratitude sees God's Salvation in small things.

03. My Voice

Can you wait? Simeon teaches that a lifetime of waiting is worth one moment with Jesus. If you are tired of waiting, don't give up. Go to the Temple. God is faithful. The peace you'll feel will outweigh the wait.
