01. The Scene
God describes Himself not as a Judge, but a Father teaching a toddler to walk. "I taught Ephraim to walk... I took them up by their arms... I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love."
"I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love, and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws."
02. The Essence
The image is extreme tenderness. Even when they rebel, God's heart recoils: "How can I give you up, Ephraim?". God's Love is affectionate and persistent. He uses "human cords" (kindness) instead of iron chains to draw us near.
03. My Voice
Is God a harsh taskmaster or a Father teaching you to walk? If you fell, He holds your arms. His love is the bond keeping you from being lost. Let His kindness draw you today.
