The King and the Cripple

2 Samuel 9
Listen

01. The Scene

King David asks: "Is there anyone left of Saul's house?" They find Mephibosheth, grandson of his enemy, crippled and hiding in Lo-debar. He expected death; David gave him life.

"Do not fear, for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan... and you shall eat at my table always."

02. The Essence

This is God's Love. Mephibosheth had nothing to offer. He was "like a dead dog". Yet David restored him to the King's table. The tablecloth covered his crippled feet. God's love fetches us from misery to honor.

03. My Voice

Feel broken or unworthy? God's Love seeks objects of mercy, not perfection. Leave Lo-debar. The King calls you, not because of you, but because of a Covenant (Jesus).
