01. The Scene
Thunder, lightning, thick cloud. Sinai smoked like a furnace because the Lord descended in fire. God set limits: "Whoever touches the mountain shall die." The people trembled.
"Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire."
02. The Essence
The Fear of the Lord teaches Distance. God is Father, but also Almighty Creator. His holiness is dangerous to sinful flesh. Limits were for protection. We cannot approach God on our own terms.
03. My Voice
Have you made God too "small" and "safe"? Sinai reminds us He is a Consuming Fire. Approach with reverence. Thanks to Jesus, we can ascend, but never forget the price paid for that access.
