01. The Scene
Elisha was a rich farmer plowing with twelve yoke of oxen. Elijah passed by and threw his cloak on him. Elisha didn't just follow; he took the oxen, slaughtered them, broke the plow, made a fire, and cooked the meat.
"And he took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen... Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him."
02. The Essence
Radical Obedience eliminates "Plan B". By destroying his tools, Elisha said: "I have nothing to go back to." He burned the bridge to his comfortable past to launch into an uncertain future with God. Keeping an escape route is not full obedience.
03. My Voice
Do you follow Jesus but keep the "plow" in the garage? Partial obedience is disobedience. The Altar invites you to burn the bridges today. Make a definitive break. If you have somewhere to return to, you won't move forward.
