01. The Scene
Elijah was depressed in a cave. God called him out. A rock-shattering wind came, but the Lord wasn't in the wind. An earthquake, but not in the earthquake. A fire, but not in the fire. After the fire, "a still small voice".
"And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak."
02. The Essence
When Elijah heard the whisper, he "wrapped his face in his cloak." This is Fear. He trembled not at the noise, but at the silence. God lowers His volume to force us to come closer. Fear is born in the intimacy of the whisper, not the spectacle of thunder.
03. My Voice
Do you only feel God in the noise? Learn to fear the silence. God wants to speak in the gentle breeze of your quiet soul. Cover your face (humility) and tune your ear. Your direction is in the whisper.
