Elijah tried to dismiss Elisha three times. Elisha refused: "As the LORD lives... I will not leave you." He followed him everywhere. Because of this stubborn honor, he received the cloak and double portion.
"Elisha said, "Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.""
02. The Mechanics
The mechanic is Proximity. Elisha didn't just want the job; he wanted the spirit. He served until the last second. Anointing is transferred through relationship and faithful service. Quitting halfway loses the mantle.
03. The Application
Are you a "blessing hunter" or a "faithful armor-bearer"? Many want the cloak (power) without the walk (service). Elisha teaches us to honor mentors for the spiritual legacy they carry. Honor captures the legacy.
