01. The Law
David was fleeing for his life. Yet he wrote: "In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety." His sleep was an act of faith.

02. The Mechanics
The mechanic is Transfer of Guard. Sleeping forces us to release control. We can't protect ourselves while unconscious. Good sleep declares: "God, I give You the night shift." Insomnia is often the arrogance of thinking we must stay awake to hold the world up.
03. The Application
Do you struggle to sleep from worry? Psalm 4 invites us to "turn off" the mind, trusting God's sentry. Security depends on His vigilance, not yours. Pray, release, sleep. God stays awake so you can sleep.
