01. The Law
Adam needed a wife but couldn't create one. God "caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man." While Adam slept (passive), God worked. He built the woman. When Adam woke, the blessing was ready.
"So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs."
02. The Mechanics
The mechanic: God works best when we don't interfere. Sometimes our anxiety hinders God's surgery. He puts us to sleep (waiting, silence) to do what we can't. Sleep isn't wasted time; it's God's operating room.
03. The Application
Trying to "manufacture" your blessing? God calls you to sleep. Trust Him enough to take your hands off. Psalm 127 says "He gives to his beloved in sleep." Relax. When you wake, the promise will be there.
