The Sabbatical Year

Leviticus 25:1-5
Listen

01. The Law

God set a strange farming law: plant for six years, but in the seventh, the land must rest (lie fallow). It seemed like economic suicide, but God promised the sixth year would yield triple to cover the break.

"But in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the LORD. You shall not sow your field."

02. The Mechanics

The mechanic is Renewal. If you exploit land nonstop, it becomes a desert. If you exploit your soul nonstop, you burn out. Rest isn't profit loss; it's longevity investment. God ensures supernatural provision covers your "non-productive" time.

03. The Application

Living on the edge of exhaustion? Is your "land" dry? The fallow principle says: stop before you break. God can make your 6 hours of work yield like 10. Trust that the world won't end if you take a break. Respect life's cycles.
